The Conard High Vocal Jazz Quintessence was as a vocal extension of the CHS Concert Jazz Band. The VJQ
is a student run group and has performed in CT, MA, NY, CA, and in Austria. The VJQ has been selected twice as the Vocal Jazz
Group Winners in Downbeat Magazine's Annual Student Awards (2003 & 2005) and has placed first in both the NCHSA and
ICHSA a cappella competitions. The VJQ was selected to have one track put on the 2006 BOHSA CD, the 2007 BOHSA CD, and the
2008 BOHSA CD. Their first CD, Some Kind of Wonderful, was released in March of 2006 and is available to purchase for
$10. Their second CD, One Fine Day, was release in June of 2007 and can also be purchased for $10. They are presently recording
material for their third CD, Down by the School Yard. Please contact us to book a performance.
